J.Mendes Nobre: Crafting Timeless Elegance in Marble Since 1986

In the heart of the stone industry, one name has stood the test of time - J.Mendes Nobre, established in 1986 is a distinguished company that has been synonymous with the exquisite beauty of marble for decades.

Founded by the visionary Joaquim Mendes Nobre, the company started as a small scrap and marble shop, after acquiring quarries and properties J.Mendes Nobre left the scrap business and fully grew into marble trade company, making it later to be developed into a internationally business with clients from each corner of the globe.

The D’EL REY Quarry was acquired at 1989, 3 years after initially starting our company. From this quarry we extract Rosa D’EL Rey a natural stone which is a fitting tribute to its royal fascination, is one of the most-known natural stones from this quarry and Portugal.

In addition to Rosa D'EL Rey, in this same quarry, we extract more than 6 different types of marble (Cream Champagne, Black Milky Way, Blue Wavy, Arabescato, Cream D'EL Rey) which makes this quarry one of the most diverse in our area.

D’EL REY Quarry

Being called a virgin quarry because of its early stages it has a lot to offer (60m deep). Quarries in D’EL REY zone usually go all the way to 250m.
